We now have 7 chicks in Reception Class. Mrs Franklin has turned veterinary nurse and had to splint one of the chick’s legs as he is a bit wobbly and unsteady.
3 more chicks to hatch, hopefully they will be with us soon.
The children have been singing “Chick chick chick chick chicken lay a little egg for me”. We have some wonderful little singers….a right chicks chorus!!!
Our chicks are starting to hatch. The children really enjoyed watching the process via our webcam link. They have been working hard on their topic of the life cycle of a chick.
Outside we have been building dens.
This afternoon we have been looking at capacity.
Reception class have planted their seed potatoes for the school challenge. Who will grow the heaviest batch of potatoes? We hope it is us!
Today we have been talking about the “Life cycle of a chick”. The children are really looking forward to day 21 tomorrow, when the chicks start to hatch. Once they have hatched we move them from the incubator to their brooding box where the children will be able to watch them. Children, start thinking of some names ready to name our chicks. We will hopefully have 10 chicks.
